Lucy Corrente D’Acunto, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away on the morning of Saturday, March 13, 2021. Lucy was born on October 20, 1920 in Minturno, Italy, and was the youngest daughter of ten children born to the late Francisco and Lucia Signore Corrente. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday this past October, surrounded by her family in a wonderful celebration of her life. Lucy immigrated to Stamford with her family at the age of 4 and spent her entire life there. She also spent many happy, post-retirement years in Boyton Beach, FL with her loving husband until his passing in 1996.
Lucy was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband, Nicholas D’Acunto; her brothers, Joseph, Frank, Emile and Vincent and her dear sisters; Anna Pinto, Mary Vesciglio and Rose Conte.
She is survived by her sister, Adeline Pacelli, of Boyton Beach, FL; brother, Morris Corrente, of Stamford; her loving daughters, Elizabeth Mallozzi (William), Lucille Limone (Carmine) and Beverly Maybo (Thomas); her grandchildren, Billy Mallozzi (Michelle) and Christopher Mallozzi (Kelley), Elizabeth Pouyat (Alan), Timmy Coughlin, Michael Limone, Anthony Perotta, Christine Limone Soracchi (Dan Fisher), Krissy Dorn, Zachary Maybo and Dana (Michael) Maduri; her eight great-grandchildren, Daniel and Casey Coughlin, Heather Pouyat, Michael and Brian Mallozzi, Morgan and Collin Mallozzi and Margaret Limone. She is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
Lucy was a beloved hostess at Woodway Country Club for several years before her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and tending to her plants. She was a wonderful homemaker, an excellent cook and an avid Yankee fan. Lucy was also an accomplished storyteller and loved to captivate an audience with her stories. She enjoyed playing cards and looked forward to her Thursday night pinochle games. But most of all, Lucy was happiest spending time with her family and grandchildren and enjoying all of their milestones, accomplishments and celebrations.
