Lydia Genovese

Lydia R. Genovese, 96 of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on April 25, 2010. Born on August 18, 1913 in Stamford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Theresa Bressio Raiteri. She lived in Stamford and Darien for the past 85 years before moving to Arizona.
Lydia is survived by her sons, Anthony J. Genovese and his wife Marie of Westbrook, CT and William A. Genovese and his wife Betty of Myrtle Beach, So. Carolina; her daughter, Carolyn A. Harvey and her husband John of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren, Anthony, Tracy, Winston, Billy, Kim and Sean; and eight great grandchildren, A.J., Nicole, Tanner, Michael, Michaela, Meagan, Maisie and Isabella.
In addition to her parents, Lydia was predeceased by her husband, Bill Genovese in 1968; her three sisters, Angelina Nosenzo, Julia Cavanna and Clementina Kruckosky; and her two brothers, Clement and Stephen Raiteri.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 9:50 AM on Monday, May 3, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 2:00-6:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Lydia’s name to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
