Maddalena Pasquino

Maddalena Pasquino, 71 of Stamford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Born on March 28, 1939 in Minturro, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Gelsomina Fava Esposito.
Maddalena emigrated from Italy in February of 1956 to Pittsburgh, PA before making her home in Stamford. She was an active member of the Minturnese Women's Auxiliary and was proud of the twelve years she spent volunteering at the St. Camillus Health Care Center. Maddalena spent her life generously sharing her time with others and will always be remembered for her gifts, which were many and her generosity, which knew no bounds. Maddalena's gift of cooking was her special way of connecting to family and friends and cherished the joy her cooking brought to all that sat at her table. Maddalena's greatest love however was for her children and grandchildren who she so lovingly cared for and who will miss her beyond words.
Maddalena is survived by her husband, Joseph Pasquino; her children, Michael Pasquino and his wife Eva, Stella Mallozzi and her husband Pasquale, Gessie Ceci and her husband Mario, Cathy Smeriglio and her husband Michael and Louis Pasquino, all of Stamford; her grandchildren, Francesca, Joey, Jackie, Leo, Samantha, Lexi, Rebecca and Nina; and her siblings, Joseph Esposito, Maria Perretta, Angelina Vernucci, Tommaso Esposito, all of Stamford, Frank Esposito of Florida, Emila Giordaniello, Michele Esposito and Pasqualina Conte, all of Italy.
A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Saturday, May 15 at 9:30AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM at St. Mary RC Church 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace RC Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 3:00-8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Maddalena’s name to the Alzheimer Association, 279 New Britain Road, Suite 5, Kensington, CT 06037.
