Madeline C. "Madge” (Lynch) Kolich, 79, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 28, 2006 in Atlantis, Florida. She was born on January 30, 1927 in Stamford, CT. She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine Lynch. Madeline graduated from Stamford High School in 1944. After graduating from high school, she worked at Yale & Towne for many years. On July 1, 1950, she married Frank Kolich, who predeceased her in March 1979. They had many wonderful years together, traveling to Florida or to the Caribbean Islands for the months of February or March. They were owners of a successful building construction company, Kole Construction, for many years before retiring and moving to Florida in 1977.

A loving Mother, Madeline is survived by her daughter, Tara Farrell and her husband, Jeffrey, of Stamford; her son, Todd and his wife, Judith, of Wellington, FL; six grandchildren who adored and loved their GE-GE or Gigs very much, Devlin, Ryan, and Conor of Stamford; and Hayley, Victoria, and Elizabeth of Wellington, FL. Madeline is also survived by her brothers, William C. Lynch (Olivia) of Naples, FL; John E. Lynch (Irene) of Old Greenwich, CT; and Thomas F. Lynch of New Canaan, CT; and many, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ruth Cecio of Lake Worth, FL; and her brother, Daniel Lynch of Darien.

Madeline led a very active life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, worshipped the sun and was always tan. Madeline loved fashion and was always dressed extraordinarily well. Clothes and shoes were her passion. She was an avid Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins fan!

Before moving to Florida, she and Frank enjoyed going to dinner, dancing or would go to the Greenwich Civic Center and roller skate, but mostly she loved to dance! That is where she met her mate, Edwin Hoffman, at a widow-widowers dance. Every Friday night for eleven years, Mr. Ed, as he was called, would get ready and off they would go and dance. Mr. Ed is a great part of our family.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104, Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 3-7 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday, November 2, 2006 and proceed to St. Leo Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:30 AM.
