Manvin Singh Mayell, 65, of Rye Brook, NY passed away Monday evening January 19, 2026.

Manvin was devoted to his family above all else. He was a loving husband, a devoted and proud father, a dear brother, a loyal partner and friend, and a joyful soon-to-be grandfather.

He was born on September 17, 1960, in Austin, Texas, the son of the late Jaspal and Parkash Mayell. He grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, where he attended Westhill High School. Manvin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1982 and his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1986.

Dedicating his career to public service and the law, Manvin served for many years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he headed the Environmental, Tax, and Bankruptcy units of the Civil Division. He later joined Kaye Scholer LLP (now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP), where he served as a litigation partner and will be fondly remembered by many colleagues and friends for his intellect, curiosity, integrity, and generosity of spirit.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Manvin lived a deeply meaningful life. He loved spending time with his family, rooting passionately for the New York Mets, listening to his favorite jazz musicians, volunteering at a local food pantry and traveling across the world.

Manvin is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Anoo Mayell, of Rye Brook, NY; his cherished sons, Zephan and his wife Elizabeth Mayell, of New York, NY, Rohan Mayell, of New York, NY; his sister Nita and her husband Chris Sabo, of Westport, CT; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will host a Memorial Service in honor of Manvin Mayell at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 24th at the Guru Nanak Mission Gurudwara, 138 Bauer Drive, Oakland, New Jersey.
