Margaret Powers

Margaret H. (Wynne) Powers died on September 24, 2016 in Stamford after a brief illness. She was 87 years old.
Born in Bridgeport on September 15, 1929, she was one of ten children of Patrick Joseph and Mary Ellen Cullinan Wynne.
Receiving her R. N. degree from the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, she worked on the medical/surgical floor, as well as the maternity ward which she really loved.
She married Michael T. Powers in 1952. After moving to Stamford she lived an active life, co-managing the school lunch program at Dolan Middle School, and later on became President of the family manufacturing business when her husband died.
Traveling to California and Florida, having fun at family parties, and sharing her photography talents with everyone she met are some of the things that she loved doing. She created photobooks that were one of a kind and unique for every occasion.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and aunt who was devoted to her faith, and a great friend to everyone she met. She’ll be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her son Kevin and daughter Karen of Stamford, sister Mary DeVaney of Milford, brother-in-law William Powers of Dunedia, FL., along with so many special and truly loved nieces and nephews from both the Wynne and Powers families.

Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Sunday, October 2nd, 2016 from 12:00-4:00PM, A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Monday, October 3rd, 2016 at 10:30AM, and process to Sacred Heart Church, Schuyler Ave., Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at a later date.
