Margaret Simonelli, 100, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born May 28, 1908 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Tomasso and Assunta Cantillo.
She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Petersen of Stamford; a son, Anthony Simonelli and his wife Peggy of Ohio; and a daughter-in-law, Caroline Simonelli of New York. Nine grandchildren, Cherise and her husband John Gasper; Bob and his wife Alicia Simonelli; Suzette and her husband Todd Jones; Denise and her husband Steve Deluca; Maggie Simonelli; Caggie and her husband Dave Bradford; Dawn and her husband Peter Clarke; Kelly and her husband Steve Adcock; and Tracey Petersen; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Simonelli; a son, Donald Simonelli; and a son-in-law, Kevin Petersen.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, October 16 from 6:00 8:00 PM with a prayer service being held at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private.
