Margaret F. Zaro, of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. She was 78 years old.

Margaret was born on January 29, 1947, in New Castle, England, to the late John and Margaret Clark Hall.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kelli Zaro; daughter in law, Rebecca Zaro; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Cody Zaro, and Anthony Tamburro; and her beloved great grandchildren, CJ and Callie Zaro, all of Stamford. She is also survived by her brother, Kevin Hall, and her sister, Vivian Jones, both of the United Kingdom.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Zaro, and her son, Shaun Zaro.

Margaret came to Stamford at the age of 18 as a governess, where she soon met Roy and established the roots of a life she deeply cherished. She had a passion for sewing and spent many years working as a talented interior decorator. An avid chef and accomplished ballroom dancer, Margaret was known for her elegant sense of style and grace.

Above all, Margaret’s life was devoted to her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut, at 10:30 AM. Entombment will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation.
