Margarita Simmel, a devoted wife and mother, and a beloved grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away at her home on Monday, January 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Equador on March 4, 1929 to the late Enrique Buitron and Adela Garcia. She was 92 years old at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Ryder Simmel; her children, Mary Hanlon and husband Tom, Adele Szymanowski and Robert Simmel; two grandchildren, Andy Farley and his wife Jennifer Corsano and Gina Higgins; two great grandchildren, Sabina and Maxwell; and many extended family members and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10AM on Thursday, January 13th at St. Benedict R.C. Church, 1 St. Benedict Circle, Stamford, CT 06902. The entombment will immediately follow mass at St. John Cemetery in Darien. To view Margarita’s funeral mass via webcast via Zoom
