Marge Altomare
January 30, 1923 — June 14, 2016
Marge Altomare, 93, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born in Newark, NJ on January 30, 1923 to the late Alfonse and Rosaria Fusaro Liguori.
Marge was an avid reader and loved crochet. She was a member of St. Maurice RC Church as well as a devoted baseball and football fan. Marge was a wonderful cook who shared her wares with all.
Marge is survived by her son Nick Altomare, Jr. and his wife Frances of Carmel, NY, her daughter Linda Nardozza and her husband Paul of Stamford, her grandsons; Paul Nardozza, Jr. and Mark Kravis and her granddaughter Jenine Kravis, as well as her great-granddaughter Lea Kravis.
Besides her parents, Marge is predeceased by her husband Nicholas Altomare, Sr., her brother Natale Liguori, her sister Mary Liguori and her grandson Scott Kravis.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Friday June 17, 2016 at 10:15AM and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Marge’s wonderful aides; Antonella Faieta, Shirley Davis, Jossett Tomlinson and Gina Michelle, as well as a very special thank you to Masonicare and Family & Children’s Services and to her dedicated nurse, Magdala Charleus.
