Maria V. Aponte Torres

Maria V. Aponte Torres, 89, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Nathaniel Witherall in Greenwich. Born October 12, 1917 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramiro and Ramma Torres Sanchez Aponte.
Maria was a retired school teacher for the Government of Puerto Rico for twenty years.
She is survived by her son, Gus Julbes and his wife, Joann, of Stamford; a daughter, Barbara Mumme of Pennsylvania; two sisters an done brother of Puerto Rico; six grandchildren, Anthony, Paul, Tricia, Maryann, Elizabeth and Michelle; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Mathew, Mia and Kayla.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Augusto Julbes; two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 5:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:20 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 and proceed to St. Cecilia RC Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
