Maria Lucy Gerardi

Maria Lucy Gerardi, 95, of Norwalk, formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Born on October 12, 1912 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Margaret Carriero Sabia.
Maria was a former member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society and a former employee of Condi Nast and Clairol before retiring.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline L. Gerardi of Stamford, and Yvonne Paturynski of Wilton; a son, Dr. Douglas L. Gerardi of Medford, New Jersey; a son-in-law, Nick; a daughter-in-law, Barbara; a brother, Anthony Sabia of Stamford; and three grandchildren, Stephen M. Paturynski, Laura A. Paturynski, and Christina Marie Gerardi.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard L. Gerardi; two sisters, Jennie Sabia and Carmella DeVito; and two brothers, Michael and Charles Sabia.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, September 26 at 10:30 AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien.
