Maria E. Gutierrez, 44, of Wesley Chapel, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in Charlottesville, VA at the University of Virginia Hospital. Born July 8, 1964 in Cuba, she is the daughter of Carlos G. Gutierrez, Sr. of Stamford and the late Luisa E. Reina.
She was a Treaty Accountant for Transamerica Reinsurance Company of Charlotte, NC.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her step-mother, Maria Del Carmen; two sisters, Rita A. Gutierrez of North Carolina; and Susane E. Gutierrez of Stamford; three brothers, Carlos G. Gutierrez of North Carolina; Antonio L. Gutierrez of New York; and George J. Gutierrez of Norwalk. Seven nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, May 29 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 30 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard Futie officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford, CT.
