Marie Merole
September 11, 1927 — March 28, 2015
Marie A. Merole, 87, of Old Greenwich passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Stamford on September 11, 1927 to the late Rachel Aiello Dodaro and Michael A. Spremulli.
Marie was the first secretary at the Sacred Heart RC School of Stamford, when it opened in 1960. She was then employed as a secretary at Richard Dudgeon Corp from 1973 until her retirement in 1990. She was an avid Yankees fan, but mostly enjoyed sitting at home in her favorite chair and keeping in touch with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda A. Dunn and her husband Darrell, Joseph D. Merole, Jr. and his wife Kathy all of Stamford. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christopher A. Dunn, Kelly E. Merole and Emily G. Merole all of Stamford.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband Joseph D. Merole, Sr. in 1988 and her sister Frances Spremulli in 1932.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, North Street, Greenwich.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie’s memory to All Saints Catholic School, 139 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT 06851
