Marie Morrell

Marie C. “Mella” Morrell, 84, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Courtland Gardens. Born October 7, 1924 in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Hattie Rada DeLuca.
Marie was a Stamford resident for the past sixty years, and was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice C. Cackowski and her husband Stanley of Shelton; two sons, Craig P. Morrell and his wife Bess of Stamford; and Ralph E. Morrell, Jr. of Stamford; seven grandchildren, Stanley, Jr., Shawn, Kristy, Michelle, Steven, Stanley, and Steven; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph E. “Beezie” Morrell, Sr.; three sons, Steven, Eugene and Mark Morrell; two brothers, Sam and Patrick DeLuca; and three sisters: Helen Sabia; Rita Gencarelli and Bovina Fronio.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, April 29 from 5:00 �" 8:00 PM with a service being held at 6:30 PM with Rev. Andrew Walters officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 12:30 PM St. Mary RC Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich.
