Marie Morris

Marie S. “Moie” Morris, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born on August 26, 1926 in Stamford to the late Frank and Josephine Goglia Sidonio.
Marie was raised in Stamford and attended Stamford public Schools. She was employed at Atlas Powder, Co., Greenberg’s , Machlett Labs, Cotton Fair and finally retired from General Signal Corp.
She is survived by her children, Margaret M. Pavia and her husband Christopher of Stamford, Richard Morris and his wife Susan of Riverside, CT, John Morris and his wife Arlene of Brookfield, CT, James Morris of Middletown, PA, Brian Morris and his wife Carissa of Dillsburg, PA and Michael Morris and his wife Irene of Antioch, CA. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, David Pavia (Katie), Megan Pavia Cogliano (Frank J.), James (Danielle), Jeffrey (Jennifer)Morris, Christopher and Rachel Morris, Andrew, Logan, Trevor and Trent Morris and Jeffrey Arias, ten great grandchildren, a brother John Sidonio of Alabama, a sister in law Arlene Sidonio of Dorchester, MA, a cousin Joan Nomack of Stamford, a niece Marianne Zarnik of New Canaan ,along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband John J. Morris,Sr. in 1970.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Cecilia,1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning, September 22, 2014 from 8:30-10:30 AM.
