Marietta Sabini

Marietta L. Sabini 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Stamford Hospital. Born on August 12, 1920 to the late Paul and Angelina D’Ambrosio Longo in Fall River, MA.
Marietta was a loving mother, an avid Boston Red Sox fan, she loved dancing and traveling, she also enjoyed interior designing and fashion. Marietta paid close attention to her health and fitness before it became fashionable.
Marietta is survived by her son Louis P. and his wife Susan K. Sabini of Stamford, her 2 loving grandchildren Lauren E. and Michael L. Sabini also of Stamford. She also leaves behind a daughter, Marilyn Gansel and her husband Robertl of Kent, CT and their daughterHeather Gansel; along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Louis J. Sabini and her four sisters Rose Longo, Antoinette Buggisch, Jennie Venrico, and Angelina Mederios, three brothers Jerry Longo, Paul Longo, and Albert Longo.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, October 21, 2012. A procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45AM on Monday October 22, 2012 and proceed to Holy Spirit Church, 403 Scofileldtown Road, Stamford, CT for a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Entombment will follow at the St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations made to the Holy Spirit Church in Marietta L. Sabini’s name.
