Mark Edward Petroni passed away peacefully on Sunday November 15. Born in Ridgewood NJ on March 1,1967 the adored son of Ronald Lewis Petroni and Elizabeth Claire Einhorn, he was the second youngest of 5 children. Survived by his three brothers Kevin and his wife Betsy, Ron and his wife Eileen, Chris and his wife Annie his sister Karen Petroni-Mansfield and five nieces. The family moved multiple times before settling down in Fairfield CT where Mark attended High School.
During his twenties and early thirties Mark resided in Weston CT. He met and married his beloved wife Alina in November 2000 at Spring Valley Road the home of former Westonites John and Fran Palazzo.
A self-taught master craftsman, Mark has spent the past 15 years building Petroni Woodworking into a thriving business from the barn he designed and constructed at his current Bethel home. His specialty paint and stain finishes allowed him to demonstrate his artistic passion for his work, the complexity of applying colors, stains and glazes to create unique custom finishes for each project.
His true passion was fishing the CT shoreline, surfcasting for catch and release stripers and other seasonal fish. Mark had an avid interest in the conservation of these fish and the protection of fishing rights for local anglers in the community.
A Donate Life Flag was flying for Mark at Danbury hospital, CT, for his support of organ donation. The New England Organ Bank shared that his legacy will live on in countless ways and helped over 50 people to date.
A memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, Sunday November 29 at 2pm. Reception to follow.
