Marlene Molina-Riascos, 75, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 7th 2021. Marlene was born in the beautiful city of Cali, Colombia on January 21, 1945 and was the second daughter born to the late Daniel Molina and Luz Marina Llanos de Molina.
In her youth, Marlene displayed a natural talent as a gifted artist. She was passionate about poetry, music, and singing. In 1968, Marlene emigrated to the United States and proudly adopted Stamford as her new home. She was fascinated with reading literature and especially enjoyed studying different schools of though and faith - maintaining her love for Buddhism. In the past decade, she concentrated on the love and legacy of family. She pioneered and established “The Club Molina” which annually reunited family and friends to celebrate the life and legacy of Luis Riascos, & Luz Marina Llanos. Over the course of most of her working years, Marlene worked as a manager for several agencies in Greenwich, CT.
She will be sadly missed by her family, her friends, and by all those who knew and loved her. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Riascos. She is survived by her three devoted children: Fernando Riascos, his partner Gregg Moreland, Leonard Riascos and wife Dana Hall, and Richard Riascos. She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Madison and Jake Riascos. Her siblings Luz Molina, Ruby Molina, and Harold Molina, and nephew Alexander Ramirez, and his wife, Elisha Miranda, her niece Claudia Ramirez, and her husband, Frank Rodriguez her nephews Ruben Molina, Dorian Molina and Christian Molina, niece Zenny Molina and many friends.
The Riascos family will hold a celebration of Marlene's life and receive the condolences of friends and relatives sometime during Spring and her ashes will be released as directed by her wishes. Interment will be held in private. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory of Stamford CT.
