Martha Thornhill, 87, died on Monday March 13, 2006 at her Stamford home. She was born in Greenwich, CT on October 17, 1918 to the late Andrew and Mary Reismond Milec.
Martha attended the Greenwich schools. During the war she worked at Homelite. After the war she moved to Stamford with her late husband, James Thornhill. She worked with S.N.E.T in the cafeteria, and retired in October of 1983. She was a member of St. Marys Seniors Club of Stamford, and a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Stamford.
She is survived by her son Ronald J. and daughter Katherine Thornhill, both of Stamford; two grandsons Jason and Joshua Thornhill.
Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Emil, Joseph, Andrew, Julius, William, and a sister Wilma Milec.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday March 16, 2006 from 10:00 11:00 AM. A funeral procession will then immediately follow and proceed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford, where a service will be celebrated at 11:30 AM, officiated by Pastor Brezen. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
