Mary Alves
December 26, 1923 — July 6, 2012
Mary “Nani” Alves, 88, a former Stamford resident passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull, CT surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 26, 1923 in Bridgeport to the late Frank and Fannie Corritori Colello.
Mary is survived by her loving children Joan Olson of Trumbull, Anthony F. Alves and his wife Arline of Trumbull; four grandchildren Erik and Scott Olson, Dara Landers and Danielle Alves; two great grandchildren Christopher and Colin Landers , including a brother Jack Colello and a sister Rose Colello both of Stamford.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio(Tony) Alves, a son in law Edward Olson, five brothers Chico, Frank, Michael, Louis and Daniel Colello and a sister Yetta Colello.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday , July 11, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers ,donations may be made in Mary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN 38105
