Mary Bova
March 20, 1937 — March 12, 2018
Mary E. “Marie” Bova, 80, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford on March 20, 1937 to the late Garvino (Carmine) Piluzza and Margaret Castellano Piluzza.
Marie was employed by the City of Stamford Public School System for many years before her retirement. Marie was very active and enjoyed being out and about with her many friends. She had a warm smile and laughed easily. She greatly enjoyed reading and was strong and very independent. Marie will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Bova of Watertown, CT, one niece, nephew and numerous cousins.
Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Peter David Bova in 2012, her son, Peter Carmine Bova in 1979 and by her two brothers, Joseph and John Piluzza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM at The Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. There will be no calling hours and Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie’s memory to Family Options, 92 Brookside Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.
