Mary A. Brucato, 72, died Friday June 23, 2006 at her home in Norwalk. Born in Stamford on August 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Jeanette Abbiati Brucato.
She graduated from the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT, where she excelled in sports activities. For 35 years, she worked in the sewing department of Stamford Hospital before retiring in 1995. She moved to Norwalk from Stamford eight years ago. Mary loved the beach and was an avid Yankee fan. Her kindhearted spirit, generosity and wonderful sense of humor were a comfort to all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Brucato LiVolsi and her husband William S. LiVolsi of Norwalk; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph C. and Rudolph �"Rudy Brucato.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday June 28, 2006 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will then follow at St. Johns Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, is in charge of arrangements.
