Mary P. Della Corte, 92, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Born on August 25, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta DiSanto Sessa.
Mrs. Della Corte was a seamstress at the former Suburban Garment Co. of Stamford for many years. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Clements Roman Catholic Church and volunteered at the church functions throughout the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family.
Mary is survived by her son, Andrew A. Della Corte Sr. and his wife Donna; a sister, Adeline Mallozzi; a brother, Jerry Sessa; two grandchildren, Matthew Della Corte and Andrew A. Della Corte Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Katelyn Della Corte.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Mathew Della Corte; and two brothers, Tony and Sylvio Sessa.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Saturday, August 23 at 9:20 AM and proceed to St. Clements Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 22 from 4-8 PM.
