Mary S. Gervasio

Mary S. Gervasio, 83, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey died May 16, 2006 at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge after a lengthy illness. Born on January 9, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Felice and Mary Nunziata Sandoli. Although she was raised in Philadelphia, she also lived in Stamford, CT and Vero Beach, FL.
She was a commercial artist, homemaker, dedicated mother and wife, a volunteer at Stamford Hospital, and a member of St. Marys Rosary Society and the Italian Center Womens Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph A. Gervasio; daughter, Donna Festo and her husband, Charles, of Basking Ridge, NJ; sons, Ralph A. Gervasio, Jr. of Stamford, CT and Anthony D. Gervasio and his wife, Rhonda of Miramar, FL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Felice Sandoli; her brother, Ralph Sandoli; and her daughter-in-law, Jennie Gervasio.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, May 19, 2006. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 10:20 AM and proceed to St. Marys R.C. Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marys name to Fellowship Village, Resident Benevolent Fund, 9000 Fellowship Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 or Somerset Hills Hospice, 12 Olcott Avenue, Bernardsville, NJ 07924.
