Mary Hamernik

Mary P. Hamernik, 86, of Stamford passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was born on July 16, 1930 in Stamford to the late John and Pauline (Sznytka) Ulatowski. Before reitring to raise her family, Mary was employed by The Southern New England Telephone Company, Time Life Magazine and Pitney Bowes. She was a parishioner of St. Vladimir's Catholic Cathedral.

She loved being outdoors, going on Sunday drives and spending time with her loving family. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to polka music, watching old movies and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her two daughters Mary Ann Morrell and Diane Hamernik, a son Paul Hamernik, one brother Joseph Ulatowski and one granddaughter Stephanie Morrell, all of Stamford, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Edward Hamernik on February 22, 2017, a brother Vincent Ulatowski and his wife Doris, her niece Linda Ulatowski and her sister-in-law Angelina Ulatowski.

Family will receive relatives and friends at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and Monday, May 8, 2017 from 8:30-10:30 AM, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Vladimir's Catholic Cathedral, 24 Wenzel Terrace, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Darien.
