Mary Esther Hart
April 23, 1916 — July 9, 2013
Mary Esther Hart, 97, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on July 9, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. She was born on April 23, 1916 in Stamford to the late John H. and Jane L. McNamara Hart.
Esther was employed with the City of Stamford as a Reading Teacher for forty years before her retirement. She received her BS from The New Haven State Teachers College, Class of 1945 and received her Masters from the University of Bridgeport in 1961.
She is survived by several cousins. Besides her parents, Esther was predeceased by her twin sister ,Sr. Elizabeth Hart of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and two brothers Harry and John Hart.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 9:30- 10:30 AM with a prayer service following at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
