Mary A. Petito Loglisci, 88, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Stamford Hospital. Born on June 25, 1924 in Stamford to the late John and Josephine Piehto Petito.
Mary was a wonderful homemaker and a spectacular cook and baker . Her family was the center of her world and was also an avid Yankees fan.
She is survived by her loving son John Loglisci and his wife Linda of Stamford, two loving daughters Gail Piria and her husband Domenico of Monroe and Rosemarie Vartuli and her husband Dominick of Stamford; grandchildren Lori Loglisci, Lisa Ferretti, Patricia Loglisci, John Loglisci, Jr., Nicholas Loglisci, Sal Piria, Angela Labrosciano and Dominic Vartuli; great grandchildren Emily Ferretti, Cecilia Labrosciano, Nicholas Ferretti and Nicholas Loglisci including a brother Michael Petito and his wife Mary.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph “Jeff” Loglisci, a son Pat Loglisci great grandson Michael John Ferretti, brothers and sisters Stanley Eaetano, Helen Baber, Katherine Petito, Frances Catugno and Anna Russo.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 8:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, Ct 06902
