Mary C. O'Connor

Mary C. OConnor, 71, a long time Stamford resident, passed away on April 21, 2007 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Born November 25, 1935 in Tarxien, Malta, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine Farrugia.
She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #41 Columbiettes. Mary retired to Florida in 1996 from Pitney Bowes, where she was a mail clerk and a member of the Pitney Bowes Oval Club. She was also a member of the Holy Family RC Church in Port St. Lucie.
She is survived by her husband, Peter J. OConnor of Port St. Lucie; two daughters, Catherine M. Shaw and her husband Richard of Stratford; and Patricia A. OConnor of Stratford; three sons, James P. OConnor of Hamden; John M. OConnor and his wife Linda of Stamford; and Robert J. OConnor of Stamford. Two sisters, Angie Scully of Stamford; and Connie Farrugia of Milford; a brother, Joseph Farrugia of Stamford; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild also survive.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 5:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:50 AM on Friday, May 4, 2007 and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
