Mary Doris Scipioni

Mary Doris Scipioni, 91, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2006 at her home in Stamford. Born on August 2, 1914 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Gracio and Filomena Muoso LaPia.
She was a seamstress for B & S Coat Factory of Stamford, retiring in 1968. She was a parishioner at St. Mary RC Church and a member of the St. Marys Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Italian Center and a former volunteer at the previously existing St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford.
She is survived by her son, Emil J. Scipioni of Tarpon Sparings, Fl; a daughter, Joan Scipioni Intrieri of Stamford; five grandchildren, Jill Intrieri; Cherisse Thoms; Daniel Scipioni; Todd Scipioni; and Steven Scipioni.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Emil Scipioni; a son, Bernard D. Scipioni; and a sister, Rose Bevalaqua.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 9:20 AM on Friday June 2, 2006 and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday June 1, 2006 from 5:00 8:00 PM.
