Mary Soltes
August 31, 1924 — January 27, 2015
Mary O. Soltesz Soltes, 90, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2015. She was born in Norwalk on August 31, 1924 to the late John Paul and Mary Liptak Soltesz.
Mary resided in Stamford for over fifty years. She was a member of St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church since its founding in 1963. She was actively involved in the Church and community, including St. Bridget Counting Team, St. Bridget’s Seniors, the OWLS organization, and the Glenbrook Seniors.
She is survived by her loving children, David A. Soltes (JoAnn) of Milford, Andrew J. Soltes, Sr. (Eileen) of New Canaan, Jeffrey C. Soltes of Palm Coast, FL, Patricia S. Conte (Ralph) of Wilton, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Irene Svidro and brother, John Soltesz both of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband of sixty- five years, Andrew R. Soltes in 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 or to St. Ladilaus Church, 25 Cliff Street, Norwalk, CT 06854
