Mary Jackson Talbot of Stamford, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born on June 12, 1923 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Cecil Franklin and Sallie Gibbs Jackson.
She was the loving mother of Christopher M. Talbot of East Aurora, NY and daughter Susan Talbot Munnelly of Stamford, CT. She also leaves behind her sister Bernice Hause of Columbus, OH, son-in-law Michael B. Munnelly, daughter-in-law Lisa M. Talbot, loving grandchildren Annelise, Nils and Erika Talbot, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Theodore H. Talbot, Jr. and siblings Frank, Billie Lou, and Richard.
Mary met and married her husband Ted while they were both working for E.I. duPont de Nemours & Co. in Wilmington, DE. Later, she worked as an assistant to the editor at Blair & Ketcham’s Country Journal magazine in Manchester, VT. While raising their family, they enjoyed a rich and active life living in Pennsylvania, Vermont, and later on Cape Cod, MA. It was there in Chatham, MA where she volunteered her time generously at St. Christopher’s Altar Guild and developed many dear and lasting friendships. She was an avid, life-long reader with many interests including: classical music, politics, the law, baseball, and traveling. She was particularly passionate about the Supreme Court and the FDR administration devoting countless hours to research and discussion.
A Memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6th at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2810 Long Ridge Rd, Stamford, CT.
