Mary Venneri

Mary J. Venneri, 95, of Michigan and a former resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Burton, MI surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Derby, CT on October 7, 1918 to the late Raffaele and Teresa Lionetti Martino.
Mary was a member of St. Maurice RC Church of Stamford and had volunteered for seventeen years at St. Camillus Health Care Center of Stamford before moving to Flint, Michigan. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and catered to all of their needs.
She is survived by her loving children, Patrick W. Venneri and his wife Barbara of Wilbraham, MA and Mary Ann Garfi and her husband Joseph of Flint, MI, a daughter in law Joanne Venneri of Newbern, NC, including fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Patrick A. Venneri, her son Robert W. Venneri and four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice RC Church,358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to St. Camillus Health Care Center, 494 Elm Street, Stamford, CT 06902
