Mary C. Vigliotti, 81, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. She was born on January 2, 1932 in Stamford to the late Thomas and Christina Inzitari Pistininzi.
Mary was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1949. She was best known for spending her life in retail sales, having worked for various Stamford Retail Stores including, C.O. Miller, Bloomingdale’s and Gimbel’s, having retired from Lord & Taylor.Her greatest pride and pleasure was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving son Michael Vigliotti and his wife Andrea of Stamford , her grandchildren Megan and Michael Vigliotti of Stamford and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her devoted husband Michael J. Vigliotti and her brother Ralph Pistininzi.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 8:50 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday March 26, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to the Fairfield University Hunger Clean-Up , Fairfield University , Campus Ministry, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824, of which her granddaughter Megan is Co-President at Fairfield University.
