Mary Mcinerney Wright
April 13, 1910 — May 26, 2008
Mary McInerney Wright, 98, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2008 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. She was born April 13, 1910 in Danbury to the late Daniel J. McInerney II and Inez Steinberg McInerney. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry J. Wright and her brother, John J. McInerney, Sr.
Mary was a member of the 1928 graduating class of Sacred Heart Academy and went on to graduate from Columbia University in 1929 with a degree in dental hygiene. For more than 30 years, she served as a dental hygienist for Dr. Frederick Reineginer, Sr. and Dr. Frederick Reineginer, Jr. Mary was well known nationally for her work with Drs. Reineginers and served as President of the Connecticut Association for Dental Hygienists and was also a past President of the Sacred Heart Academy Alumni Association. Mary was a woman of robust faith, quiet generosity and a true friend to many.
Mary, affectionately known as �"Mae or �"Aunt Mae was cherished by her family. She is survived by her beloved niece and nephews, Barbara Duff and her husband, Edward, of Naples, FL; Daniel J. McInerney and his wife, Barbara, of Stamford; and John J. McInerney, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Gatersville, TX; and a stepson, Richard Wright and his wife, Diane, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also leaves behind a grand niece and two grand nephews, Timothy Duff, Marianne McInerney and Daniel J. McInerney, Jr. as well as many great grandnieces and nephews; and her cousin, Eleanor McPhee Shuman of Denver, Colorado and her children, Tony, Alex, Donald, Robert and Mary.
Interment will be private and is being handled by the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. A Memorial Mass is to be announced.
