May E. Laber 67 of Stamford passed away at her daughter’s home on Tues. Feb. 7, 2006.

Born in Stamford May 1, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Billings Ludwig.

May was a well known Recreation Leader having worked for the Board of Recreation of Stamford, retiring after 38 years of service. Additionally she was a parishioner of St. Maurice RC Church in the Glenbrook Section of Stamford and a member of it’s Woman’s Guild. She was also a member of the Glenbrook Athletic Club of Stamford’s social society.

Survivors include her husband Gerald G. Laber of Stamford, a son David Laber of Stamford and his former wife Lucy Mustafa of Norwalk, a daughter Bonnie Smith and her husband Timothy of Trumbull, two sisters Irene Nagy of Huntington, CT and Joan Correnty of Darien and a brother Frank Ludwig of Springfield, VA. Three grandchildren Thomas Laber, Kayla Smith and Timothy Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in May’s name to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center c/o Stamford Hospital at Shelburne Rd. Stamford, CT 06904.
