Michael A. DeMasi, 94, of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on June 28, 1918 in Herkimer, NY to the late Salvatore and Rose Pastello DeMasi. Michael served in The United States Army during World War II and a member of the Springdale VFW. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus #41, an avid bowler and a member of St. Mary RC Church and worked as a Silver Smith at Stonebrook Jewelers.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Theresa Trombetta DeMasi of Stamford, his two daughters; Jean an her husband Jim Torok of Norwalk and Rosemarie DeMasi and her partner Joan Castle of Atlanta, GA, a sister Ernestine Inzitari of Stamford and one brother Frank and his wife Delores DeMasi of Stamford, two grandchildren Pamela Heylin and Christine Horelick and one great-grandchild Callen Theresa Heylin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents; Michael is predeceased by his sister Mary Amato, a brother Angelo DeMasi and a nephew Frank DeMasi.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue Stamford, CT on Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday January 17, 2013 at 9:20AM and proceed to St. Mary RC Church, 566 Elm Street Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien.
