Michael Kraus

Michael J. Kraus, 60, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 16, 2018, Michael was born on December 8, 1957, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Robert E. and Elizabeth Cassidy Kraus.
Michael spent his early years in Katonah, NY moving to Stamford in 1964. He was a graduate of Stamford Catholic High School, Class of 1976, where he was a hockey standout. As an avid boater, Long Island Sound was his playground where he fished and water skied. Michael was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #41.
Michael is survived by his brother Timothy P. Kraus and his wife Karen McKinney, also surviving are his cousins from the Cassidy, Chiasson and Grogan families as well as his cherished childhood friends.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4:00-8:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 9:20AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will follow at Pelham Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michaels name to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, PO Box 758, Topeka Kansas, 66675-8517
