Michael Manzella

Michael R. Manzella, 78, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Westerly, R.I on June 6, 1936 to the late Rosolino and Agnes Ida Macioni Manzella.
Michael was raised in Stamford. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Airforce. He was an avid bowler, having bowled at Bowl-a-Rama in Stamford and the Rip Van Winkle Lanes in Norwalk, in the Wednesday night mixed league. He was an avid Yankees fan. Mike worked for AMEX Co., as a Printing Mailroom Supervisor and most recently his post retirement job was for Securitas, Security Co., both at UBS and RBS in Stamford.
Mike is survived by his loving children, Michael Manzella of Arlington, TX, Raymond Manzella of Woodbury, CT, Johnny Ray Manzella of Arlington, TX, Katherine Minogue of Darien, his sister Marcela Bartolo, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his wife of forty seven years Bobbie Jean James Manzella, his three siblings Frances Stolfi, Victor Manzella and Anna Salvatore.
Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM, with a service to held at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
