Millie M. Galasso

Millie M. Galasso, 84, passed away on Saturday August 5, 2006 at Stamford Hospital after a brief illness. Born on July 3, 1922 in Stamford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Pauline Salvatore Garaffa.
She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of Sacred Heart RC Church, and the past President of its CCD program where she continued to remain active. She was also a Columbiette with the Knights of Columbus, St. Augustine Council #41, of Stamford.
She is survived by her son, Francis L. Galasso and his wife Cary, of West Haven; two daughters, Paula DiBella of Clearwater, FL; and Carol Dastoli and her husband Mickey of Orlando, FL; a sister, Kate Salerno of Mansfield, Mass; eight grandchildren, Tom Halvorsen, Darrell Galasso, Brian Halvorsen, Jason Galasso, Marc Galasso, Suzanne Galasso, James Dastoli, and Robert Dastoli; and eight great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Francis A. Galasso; and three brothers, William, Salvatore, and Michael Garaffa.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 8:40 AM on Wednesday August 9, 2006 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM with the Reverend Robert Pohley officiating. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday August 8, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 PM.
