Muriel Brown

Muriel A. Brown, 86 of Stamford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Stamford Hospital on Sunday October 7, 2012. Muriel was born in Queens, NY to the late John and Anne Andersen Thompsen.
Muriel was a retired employee of the US Postal Service. She loved needle-point and winters in Vero Beach, FL.
Muriel is survived by four sons: Edward and Jill; Peter and Margo; Stephen and Lisa; and James and Deborah; her nine grandchildren: Erin, Tara, Adam, Peter Jr., Matt, Megan, Stephen, Lauren and Maureen; as well as seven great-grandchildren: Maddie Lynn, Eddie, Sophie, Alison, Noah, Lucy and Graham.
Besides her parents Muriel is predeceased by her loving husband Edward A. Brown.
Friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, on Tuesday October 9, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20AM on Wednesday October 10 for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Parish, 914 Newfield Ave., Stamford, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Ave, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Stamford Firefighters Burn Foundation, 629 Main Street, Stamford, CT. 06901.
