Myrtle E. Kieszkiewicz, 89, a former resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. She was born in Stamford to the late Joseph and Effie Goodwin Crosta.
She was a Resident Counselor for various handicap facilities for several years before her retirement.
Myrtle is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia I. Cymbal and her husband Michael of Kerhonkson, NY, Laura Abbott and her husband Charles of Bridgewater, CT, Victoria Hoch-Starkey and her husband James of Bethel, CT, three sisters, Elsie Caretta , Genevieve Zurzola and her husband Frank, Gloria Santora and her husband Rocky all of Stamford, as well as her five grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Cymbal, Carolyn, Emily and Jack Abbott.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Daniel R. Kieszkiewicz and three sisters, Evelyn Vanech, Dorothy Crosta and Doris Bruno.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
