Nathaniel Johnson

Nathaniel Johnson, 61, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Eutawville, SC on May 28, 1953 to the late Levi and Mary Simpson Johnson.
Nathaniel was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. He worked at Clairol for thirty seven years before his retirement and was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the US Army.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Washington Johnson of Stamford, his children, Eythan Johnson of Stamford, Nigel Johnson of Norwalk and Ashley Johnson of Stamford, his siblings, Rebecca Jamison and her husband James of Stratford, Ruth Williams and her husband Thomas of SC, Johnny Johnson and his wife Verdell of Stamford, Shirley Pollard of GA, Estelle Middleton and her husband Morris and Virginia Brown and her husband Moses both of SC, two uncles Jeff and Fortune Johnson of SC, two aunts Ruth Dingle of NC and Mildred Mims of SC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Nathaniel was predeceased by a sister Magdelan “Maggie” Simpson and a brother Sammy Johnson.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 6:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 611 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be private.
