Nelson Springer, Jr.

Nelson F. Springer, Jr., 81, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017. Nelson was born in Stamford on March 5, 1935 to the late Nelson and Florence Layman Springer.
Nelson was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was also an active member of the Stamford Navy Club, and a Naval Reserve Veteran.
Nelson is survived by his loving children Son Michael Springer and his wife Angeles of Stamford, daughter Lynnanne Huber of Milwaukee, and daughter Laura Marie Degling of CT. His five cherished grandchildren Meghan, Luke, Sarah, Aidan, and Addison also survive him along with his brother Al Springer and his wife Reggie of VT, and a sister-in-law Helen Valenzano of FL.
Besides his parents, Nelson is predeceased by his cherished wife Ruth Ann Clark.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 3:00PM-7:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 9:20AM and proceed for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will be privately held.
