Nicola Nunnari

Nicola (Nick) Nunnari passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Stamford, CT following a brave battle with prostate cancer.  Nick passed peacefully at home with his wife Julie at his side.

Nicola was born in 1942 in Messina, Sicily as World War II raged through his homeland.  As a young adult, Nicola immigrated to the USA and became a proud citizen of his newly adopted country, but he always remained and Italian at heart.

A man of many interests, Nick was just as comfortable enjoying opera as he was watching a championship boxing match.  He was also very skilled at Italian cooking, always making delicious and complex dishes seem effortless.  After his retirement from The City of Stamford Engineering Bureau, he and Julie enjoyed traveling extensively abroad, creating happy memories together that will be cherished forever.

Nick was a good man with a big heart and was generous to a fault, and his love for animals knew no bounds.  He will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he's touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Julie Nunnari, and preceded in death by his mother, Maddelena Nunnari.  In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services.  A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
