Norma Montalvo

Norma Montalvo, 77, a longtime resident of Stamford was called to eternal rest with her family by her side on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Norma was the eldest daughter of the late Braulio Gonzalez and Patria Robles Gonzalez.

Norma was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico which she loved deeply and celebrated in her stories.

Norma devoted her life to serving the lord and was a member of the First Spanish Nazarene Church for many years and later a member of the New (Life) Beginning Community Church where she served in the children’s ministry.

Norma dedicated much of her life to working with children, especially those with disabilities. She was employed for over 30 years by the Stamford Board of Education before retiring in 2018. Norma had a heart of giving and supported numerous charities including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Save the Children.

Norma is survived by her devoted children: daughter Norma Iris Kapoor and son-in-law Jatin of Stamford; son Christian Joel Montalvo of Stamford; daughter Marilyn Patricia DaSilva and son-in-law Dilamar of Stamford. She is also survived by her loving brothers, Gonzalo Edward and Manuel Gonzalez of Stamford and her cherished grandchildren: Christian Montalvo, Jr., Indra Kapoor, Aryan Kapoor, Iliana DaSilva, and Sophia DaSilva. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Norma is predeceased by her parents, Braulio and Patria Gonzalez, and sister Rosa Batista.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory ,104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT 06902, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Interment will be private
