Olga Rich, 86, a Stamford resident of more than 8o years, passed away suddenly on August 3, 2011. She was born on August 9, 1924 in Port Chester, NY.
She was the devoted wife of 61 years to Mel Rich, Sr. She is survived by her husband and her beloved children, Mel Rich, Jr., Larry Rich and his wife Jill. She is also survived by her two loving grandchildren, Brittany and Colby, whom she often described as “the stars in her heaven.” She was a graduate of Stamford High School Class of 1943 and had retired from Allendale Insurance Company. In her retirement she enjoyed her family, friends, cooking and taking care of those around her.
A prayer service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 7:30 PM at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
