Orsalina M. �"Lee Burns 82, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT passed away at her home on November 22, 2006.
Lee was born in Stamford, CT on December 16, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Angelina Mirizzi and Domenico Colamonico. She is also predeceased by her beloved husband, Russell F. Burn Sr. and her loving brother Vito (Tony) A. Colamonico, a son Russell F. Burns, Jr. and her sons-in-law, Francis (Frank) E. Crowley and Robert (Bob) R. Farmer.
Survivors include her loving and dedicated daughter Sherry Burns Tarantino and grandchildren Sean B. Tarantino (AITE) and Brittany L. Tarantino (Scofield) of Stamford, CT. She is also survived by daughters Catherine (Katie) Burns Nash Crowley of Stratford, CT, and Carol Burns Farmer of Fyffe, AL. Sons, Robert J. Burns and wife Hanh D. Burns of Wallingford, CT and Joseph P. Burns and wife Serena of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by her loving sister, Anna ( Nina) Carstounis and husband George of Stamford, CT. Her sister-in-law Rose Colomonico of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Trudy (Gert) and Harry Borner of Stamford, CT.
She had many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and godchildren. Lee was also blessed with many friends and extended family throughout the years. She considered herself lucky and loved to have a good time, she was the life of the party! Lee worked in the business world as an executive secretary for many years. She worked at Artisitic, Northern Warren, Philips, Machlett Labs, and retired in 1989, after many years from Hilti, Inc. to enjoy her grandchildren and life in South Daytona and Hobe Sound, Fl. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, the US, Mexico, South America and the Caribbean & Hawaiian Islands. She was happy shopping, entertaining family and friends, and playing cards with the girls. Lee was an active longtime member of St. Leos Parish, volunteering for the monthly alter cleaning, Friday Night Bingo, International Night, Christmas Fair and the famed St. Leos Fair every August for 24 years.
Lee was also a member of the Columbiettes with the Knights of Columbus, St. Augustine Council #41 of Stamford.
A Funeral Procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford on Sat. November 25, 2006 at 8:45 AM and proceed to St. Leos Parish, 24 Roxbury Rd. Stamford for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns RC Cemetery Darien, CT.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
