Ottavio Castiglione

Ottavio Castiglione, 89, of Stamford entered his eternal home to be with Christ on Monday, February 26, 2018. He was born on December 2, 1928 in Rose Cosenza, Italy to the late Francesco and Cherubina Bria Castiglione.
Ottavio was employed at Pitney Bowes until his retirement in 1995. Although he enjoyed gardening and wine making, his family was his greatest blessing and joy.
He is survived by his loving children, Cherubina “Cathy” Moccia and her husband Antonio of Stamford, Maria Pavia and her husband Stephen of Stamford, Carmine Castiglione and his wife Mary Lou of Southington, CT, as well as his seven grandchildren, Maria Christina and her husband Thomas, Daniela, Clorinda, Stephen and his wife AshleyBrooke, Michael, Carmine and Mary Lou. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, William and Mila, as well as his caregiving angel, Marcelina Huerta.
Besides his parents, Ottavio was predeceased by his loving wife, Rosina Bruno Castiglione and his brothers, Isidoro, Ferdinando, Carmine, Michele, Fr. Lorenzo, Emilio and Fr. Girolamo Castiglione.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 8:30-10:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum, Darien.
