Patricia Ann “Patty” Barcello, 71, a lifelong resident of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away on October 20, 2026.

Patty was a kindhearted woman who gave much of her life to caring for others. Over the years she worked as a bartender, a housekeeper, and a child care provider, and she met every job with a tireless work ethic and an unmatched determination to get it done. She was patient, funny, and loving, and those who knew her best also knew her stubborn streak, which was as much a part of her as her generous heart.

Family was at the center of Patty’s world. She loved her family deeply, and the care and devotion she showed those closest to her will be remembered and treasured. She was a wonderful cook who loved music, and she brought her warmth, her humor, and her one-of-a-kind personality to everyone around her. Having spent her entire life in Stamford, she was a familiar and beloved presence in the community she called home.

Patty is survived by her beloved son, Lawrence M. Barcello; her sister, Cora Martino; her brother, Robert Stewart; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on October 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on October 29th at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patty’s memory to the African Wildlife Foundation: awf.org, 701 8th Street NW, Suite 400, Washington, DC 20001, toll-free 1-888-494-5354.
